About Love Star
Love Star
Los Angeles’ Mutual Cry is Adriana Fernandez. This singer-songwriter, with her warm and intimate vocals, fun and infectious melodies, and evocative lyrics, continue to captivate audiences with unique stories about life and love. The stretch of her touch extends pasts the barriers of language, as these versatile songs are recorded and performed in both English and Spanish. The name Mutual Cry was inspired by the common “cry” or need of every person’s heart and soul, which goes much deeper than just personal relationships. The debut album, Puzzle Piece, was released in 2006 under the independent labrl J Gates Records, and because the album was released in both languages, Mutual Cry was able to make a name for itself in two completely different musical worlds.
Mutual Cry’s first-ever live performance was on Southern California’s famous Super Estrella 107.1, and Adrian is Grito Mutualhonor that most bands never achieve in their lifetime, much less as a first-time appearance. After getting off to an amazing start, the band has never looked back. Performances at prestigious night clubs such as The House of Blues on Sunset, The Conga Room, BB Kings, and The Whisky A Go Go are just a few of the many milestone achievements along the way. In addition to an already impressive resume, Mutual Cry has taken the stage to support many local causes, such as festivals, fairs, and charity events.
The project has caught the attention of various media, including magazine, radio, and internet radio and television. Some of the more recent attention of note includes articles by Al Borde, Campus Circle, and Tokada Magazines. Adrian Nevares of Al Borde wrote “The band is composed of great musicians and their songs have possibilities for all fans.” In the article, Adrian touches upon the bi-lingual aspect of their songs, writing “Some of the songs are in English, but don’t think for a second that their style gets lost in the translation. Being bi-lingual has its advantages and Mutual Cry sure knows how to use it to invite everyone to the feast.” (Al Borde, 2007) Mutual Cry has also recently been on such local news television stations as Channels 22, 52 and 62, and made an appearance on KPFK 90.7 Pacifica Radio as well.
