I have been dancing and have been in cheer / dance squads since the third grade. I continued dancing all the way to college so i have stories galore. Now I coach dance squads in a school.

Here is one of my most embarrasing tales

In college I was performing with my cheer squad. I was a “flyer”. A flyer is the person who gets thrown up in the air during stunts or who ends up at the top or near the top of the pyramid. During one of our major events we were building a pyramid where i was on the second to the top level of the pile. I was leaning forward next another teammate in the same position as I. Another squad member had to climb up on top of us. She used us as a ladder to get up.(look at the picture below to get an idea of what the pyramid looked like) On her way up, by accident, she took the back of my skirt up with her knee and when she stood up to complete the stunt she pulled it up even higher. I couldn’t pull down by skirt because if i made any movement the pyramid would fall apart. We had to hold that position while we said a cheer. so i stood there, helplessly, mooning all the spectators in the bleachers (this included many of my friends, classmates, family members, boyfriend, strangers), the judges, my teammates who were behind me. I don’t think anyone was really listening to our chant. I remember them laughing and taking pictures while my face was turning the color of a tomato. To top it off when we got off the floor my boyfriend came and yelled at me “AS IF” i did it on purpose(what the heck?)
